Rasmus Hojlund set to undergo medical ahead of completing proposed Manchester United move:
Rasmus Hojlund will go to Manchester on Tuesday for a medical before finalizing his projected move to Manchester United.
United has agreed to purchase the 20-year-old striker for €75 million plus €10 million in add-ons with Atalanta.
Personal
terms are in place on a five-year deal contract with a 12-month extension
option.
Hojlund
joined Atalanta last summer after leaving Sturm Graz in Austria. In 31 Serie A
appearances, he has eight goals and two assists.
In
March, the Danish international scored five goals in two games during Euro 2024
qualifying, including a hat-trick against Finland.
He will be United's third signing of the summer, following Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
On Saturday, United will host the French team Lens at Old Trafford.
I'd
like to inform you about Hojlund as a player.
Hojlund's
debut season in Serie A was promising but puzzling. Twenty of his 32 league
starts came as a starter, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini occasionally using
him as a second-half 'closer' to run against tired opposing legs. (This may
explain why his numbers are skewed, as he played in shorter bursts than the
other strikers on this list.)
When
Hojlund did join the field of play, he performed admirably. Ten Hag may have
stated that he wants an experienced striker who brings "no risk," but
the delight of Hojlund — who only left his adolescence in February — comes from
imagining the player he could be in two to three seasons.
When discussing him, the word "potential"
comes to mind.
