 Argentina3-0Croatia:

LIONEL MESSI CALLS THE 2022 World Cup Final "EXTRAORDINARY" AND SAYS HE'S READY TO "ENJOY" IT JULIAN ALVAREZ FOLLOWING SUCCESS OVER CROATIA.

When Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez scored twice against Croatia in the World Cup semifinals, Lionel Messi lauded his Argentina teammate for his "amazing" performance. The 35-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward Messi was also in excellent form, and Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni declared that he thought Messi was the best player in history.

After leading Argentina to a 3-0 semi-final victory over Croatia, Lionel Messi is prepared to make the most of Sunday's World Cup final for his country.

The 35-year-old played a key role in Argentina's triumph over Croatia, setting up a matchup with either France or Morocco in the championship game.

Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia in a terrible fashion in their initial group stage match, so many people did not think they would advance this far.

They have since changed their form, in large part due to Messi's initiatives.

In the race for the Golden Boot, he is tied with Kylian Mbappe with five goals scored throughout the World Cup. Against Croatia, he put on another outstanding display.

His first-half penalty kick goal helped his team win, but what garnered the most acclaim and attention was his help in dispatching Josko Gvardiol to set up Julian Alvarez of Manchester City.

Argentina was aware they would face a technically proficient foe, said Messi during a press conference.

"We were not in a panic when we ran side to side because we knew we would play this way. We were aware that they would be in control, but it might work to our advantage," he remarked.

The former Barcelona player observed the team's improvement in performance.

"After the first game [a defeat to Saudi Arabia], I pleaded with the public to have faith in us because we are confident in our abilities. A further World Cup final will feature Argentina! We must have fun with it.

The Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez was then singled out for praise by Messi, who said: "Every player did extremely well, but if I had to choose, I would give this [man of the match] trophy to Julian." He played quite well.

Messi is the best player ever, according to manager Lionel Scaloni, who told reporters: "Sometimes it can look like we only say it as Argentinians but I don't have any doubt...

Every time he plays, it greatly inspires the rest of the team.

Nothing more needs to be said about Messi; having him is a pleasure.
